The system centralizes the city traffic lights in a high-performance computer, receives commands remotely and speeds up necessary modifications to improve traffic. As the most advanced in the market, this equipment can operate over cable or mobile phone (GPRS).
The main characteristic of the BRASCONTROL Fixed-Time Traffic Center is to establish a remote communication between traffic controllers and Traffic Department, which can occur with the use of mobile phone, fixed telephone, radio communication, optical fiber or even via cables (proprietary network).
The mobile phones are widely used nowadays due to the low cost of deployment and its operation that make the system profitable. The communication between the controllers and the central leads the Traffic Department to a more effective management of traffic lights in town, allowing to:
>> Remotely Schedule and reschedule full or partial operating parameters of the controller such as: traffic plans (times of green, yellow, total red), times for exchange of plans, table of dates, sequence of stages, times of safety, etc;
>> Remotely monitor system failures, informing the occurrence of system default immediately to the operator and recording the occurrence;
>> >> Monitor the current state of the controller in real time, reporting in real time the following controller operation data: current traffic plan, current status, remaining time of the current stage, operation mode, etc;
>> Monitorar o estado atual do controlador, em tempo real, informando segundo a segundo os seguintes dados da operação do controlador: plano de tráfego atual, estágio atual, tempo restante do estágio atual, modo de operação, etc.;
>> Group controllers into operational sub-areas (allow defining groups of controllers that simultaneously obey common commands such as: exchange of traffic plans, operating cycle and others, regardless of the physical network to which they belong to);
>> Place a new plan or emergency plan alone or to a group of controllers;
>> Operate with login and password for each system operator, with at least 3 (three) levels of access: (I) access only to receive data; (II) to send data; (III) to send data through the operators' database;
>> Generate complete files with all data of each traffic controller of the system such as: controller code, location, configuration data, table plan, table stage, green conflicting table, exchange of plans timetable, time schedule, controller occurrences record, etc.
The central generates management reports, spreadsheets, files that have the status of the system, i.e., reports through which we can list the equipment in the system, faulty equipment (which sort of problem, when it occurred, etc), running equipment, its location , and so on.
The center sets the clock (day, month, year, hour, minute and second) periodically for all controllers connected to the system in order to maintain the equipment synchronized.
